ADAPT is used by Airlines and Academies across the globe to screen, select and stream candidates at all levels from ab initio to Check Pilots.


Academies

Aviation, Tourism and Travel Training Organisation, New Zealand

In conjunction with NZSkillsConnect, The Aviation, Tourism and Travel Training Organisation (ATTTO) is New Zealand’s industry training organisation (ITO) for the travel, tourism, aviation and museums sectors. ATTTO develop and deliver future focussed, highly relevant qualifications and training support that meet the professional development and regulatory needs of specific industries, and help individual businesses achieve. Symbiotics is pleased to provide ATTTO with an online assessment to test whether candidates have the physical skills and personality to be a successful pilot. The test involves completing a personality questionnaire and a flight simulation task and is a requirement for entry into a New Zealand Diploma in Aviation (Aeroplane and Helicopter) or the Massey University School of Aviation degree programme.

HM Aerospace

HM Aerospace Sdn Bhd (HMA) is Malaysia’s premier flight training centre providing world-class training and facilities for cadet pilots. As a member of the Halim Mazmin Group, HMA has capacity to train a minimum of 200 cadet pilots per year. Based in in Langkawi the company offers a range of aviation courses for cadets from commercial airline companies as well as graduates fresh out of secondary school and overseas cadet pilots. HM Aerospace utilises the ADAPT online tool during its selection process, combining it with Symbiotics Ltd’s personality questionnaire to garner a deeper understanding of the candidates personality and motivation. 

Jakarta Aviation Training Center

The Jakarta Aviation Training Center is located at Sukarno-Hatta airport in Jakarta and is a state of the art flight training facility. The academy, tasked with introducing EASA standard training to Indonesia, is a joint venture including SIM Industries, Lockheed Martin and local Indonesian companies. The academy supplies type rating training enabling local pilots to qualify and re-train in Asia whereas currently they must often travel abroad. Symbiotics online assessment of personality, multi-tasking, cognitive skills, co-ordination & control and aviation knowledge help JATC select the most well-suited and capable candidates for their programme.

Pan Am International Flight Academy

Airline Career Academy was established in 1995 and trains an estimated 250 pilots annually. Purchased by Pan Am International Flight Academy  in December 2012 the Academy is approved to deliver JAA/EASA and FAA initial pilot training at its facilities in Kissimmee/Orlando, Merritt Island, and Ft. Lauderdale Florida, supported with offices in Costa Rica, UK, Italy and Spain. Symbiotics testing is embedded in the Pan Am International Flight Academy selection process providing them with an understanding of an individuals’ personality and suitability as well as a gauge of their physical and cognitive performance.

Thai Flight Training Academy

Located in Bangkok Thai Flight Training Academy (TFTA) was established from the amalgamation of three training academies in 2009. Initiated and operated by the national air carrier, Thai Airways International, this international flight training academy provides three advanced professional training programs for commercial airline pilots. Most recently, the academy introduced the Multi-Crew Pilot License Program or MPL, an innovative teaching approach for professional airline pilots which fulfils the requirements of every international airline. Symbiotics Ltd has trained TFTA staff in the use of full ADAPT for selection of ab initio candidates.

Wings Aviation Careers

With over twenty five years' experience in aviation Wings Aviation Careers (WAC) runs a unique cadet ready programme which works for airlines to deliver to them already assessed ab initio candidates to help them reduce training costs. WAC currently carry out selections at their assessment centre in Singapore and will shortly add centres in Malaysia and Australia. Under a contract spanning five years Symbiotics Ltd will provide WAC with online selection services including tests on personality, maths, physics, FAST (multi-tasking), cognitive skills, co-ordination and control, flight simulation and English comprehension.

 

 

Selection Academies

Symbiotics has established a global foot print selecting hundreds of next generations pilots each year at locations across the globe.

Operating with CAE Global Academy, ADAPT has been augmenting the CASS (CAE Aircrew Selection System) scheme to select the finest Ab-initio cadets

ADAPT is currently being used in the aviation environment, informing the pilot selection process; placing candidates in the civil training pipeline.

ADAPT assesses a candidates ability to ‘think and do' in a particular profession and, where possible, train and adjust a candidates skills to an organisations requirement.
