Designed to provide insight into an individual's motivations and key drivers.
Symbiotics are pleased to introduce Motivational Drivers from Psyence, a UK psychology consultancy. The questionnaire is derived from work done at Harvard, has been used extensively in the corporate sector and forms a good complement to the APQ.
Besides the desired competences, it is important that the individual has an appropriate motivation to perform the role they are applying for. Understanding their motivation is important in ensuring that they will remain engaged and stay with the role rather than seeing it as an interim step or being attracted away by the first interesting offer.
For example, one of the issues facing many training organisations is retention of instructors. Understanding the motivational drivers of the instructors would indicate those for whom instructing is their chosen career, who are motivated by seeing others succeed and the other intrinsic aspects of the role, versus those for whom instructing is something to do until they get a better offer.
