Our Control and Co-Ordination Test measures a candidates ability to accurately use a joystick to control a dynamic object.

A test of hand-eye co-ordination is one of the best predictors of aptitude for the physical skills of flying. Many people play games via apps on tablets and smart phones and think they have good co-ordination, but the physical manipulation of the joystick requires a more complex set of movements which are captured in this test.

Reports

The report provides feedback about the Co-ordination assessment, with results provided in the form of a graph with normed sten scores and colour bands. The Co-ordination assessment is a useful tool as it can help predict how well the candidate will be able to deal with the physical tasks throughout the training. This assessment not only measures the candidate's current level of hand-eye co-ordination, but also assesses their ability to efficiently improve their skills and adapt quickly to new and demanding environments. The stronger their performance and learning the more likely they will be able to pick up new skills quickly throughout the training. This assessment requires the candidate to use flight controls, making the assessment highly relatable to the pilot role.
