Identifies where on the creativity scale an individual might sit, identifying whether they are more innovative or adaptive.
Symbiotics' CreativityQ assesses the individuals' style of creativity. Measures include: risk taking, idea generation conscientiousness, drive for change and natural style, behaviour and motivation.
When asked if they are creative, some people will say they are, whilst others will say they are not. As a society, creativity can be seen as synonymous with innovation, however, research has established that there are two styles of creativity, Adaptive thinking and Innovative thinking, which form a continuum. Neither style is better than the other and, indeed, both styles are needed for a project to be completed effectively. Innovators have new ideas; Adaptors take existing ideas and make them work better. The individual preference will impact areas that include not only problem solving and decision making but also the approach to work in terms of structure and openness to change.
